Easy Homemade Naan Bread Recipe

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon milk powder
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon melted butter or ghee for brushing
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, yeast, baking powder, and milk powder.
- Make a well in the center and add the beaten egg, water, and milk.
- Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 to 7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough back into the bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Divide the dough into 6 equal portions and shape them into balls.
- Roll each dough ball into a flat circle or oval approximately 1/4 inch thick.
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
- Cook each naan for 2 to 3 minutes per side until puffed and golden brown spots appear.
- Brush the warm naan with melted butter or ghee.
- Serve immediately while warm.
